Ian Tanaya

Ian Tanaya is a Japanese-American director and photographer based in Tokyo. Raised in a musical family, he started filming skate videos and shooting concerts at 15, then spent his late teens editing for the NBA and Cristiano Ronaldo's YouTube channel. Since 2025 he has directed videos for kegøn, Kianna, kuru (deadAir) and OSK, alongside work for Jordan Brand, Brownies & Lemonade and Pholo x Trippie Redd. He starts every project by learning the artist's world, then builds the video from inside it, working in Japanese and English across Tokyo and the US. He leads creative direction for kegøn and for Storytolds, where he shapes projects from first concept through post.
